Strategy Work

Helping Global Leaders Navigate
Technological & Geopolitical Uncertainty

I partner with governments, multinational corporations, and family offices to make sense of where technology is going and how to get ahead. My work sits at the intersection of emerging and frontier technologies, national security, geopolitics, macrotrends and human flourishing, domains I've spent two decades integrating. This is not off-the-shelf consulting. It is bespoke strategy for those who can't afford to be wrong.

The Problem I Solve

Most organizations plan without a worldview.

They track technological trends in isolation. They develop strategy without understanding the geopolitical currents that will shape whether that strategy succeeds or fails. They react to disruption rather than anticipating it.

In a world of exponential technological change and mounting geopolitical turbulence, this approach is no longer sufficient.

Leaders need someone who can:

  • See across domains: technology, geopolitics, macrotrends, climate science, national security and demographics

  • Distinguish signal from noise in an overwhelming information environment

  • Translate emerging trends into actionable (and competitive!) strategy

  • Help them ask better questions before the answers become urgent

My Approach

1. Discovery Through Dialogue

Bespoke work begins with conversation. I invest time understanding your context, your challenges, and your unspoken questions. This discovery phase is where trust is built and where the real contours of the work emerge.

2. Multidimensional Analysis

I bring four integrated lenses to every engagement:

Lens: What It Reveals

Technological: Where is the technology going? What's real vs. hype?

Geopolitical: How will global power shifts affect outcomes?

Strategic: What does this mean for your organization?

Human: How does this serve human flourishing?

3. Collaborative Framing

Together, we define the scope of work that addresses your actual needs—not a pre-packaged solution. This might include strategic foresight, scenario planning, governance frameworks, or ongoing advisory.

4. Actionable Insight

The goal is not reports that gather dust. It's clarity you can act on, frameworks you can use, and confidence in your next move.

Who I Work With

Governments & Public Sector

National security agencies, military education institutions, and government bodies navigating the intersection of technology and geopolitics. Recent work includes advisory for the United Nations on AI governance and emerging technology strategy for special operations and intelligence communities.

Multinational Corporations

Companies facing technological disruption and uncertain futures. I help executive teams understand where their industry is going, what it means for their business, and how to position for what's next. Former SVP for emerging technologies at a multinational tech company; now advising organizations across sectors.

Family Offices & Investors

Those deploying capital into frontier technologies need more than financial analysis—they need to understand the technological and geopolitical landscape their investments will inhabit. I provide strategic advisory to family offices making long-term bets on the future.

Select Non-Profits & Foundations

Organizations working on technology governance, AI safety, and human flourishing occasionally engage me for strategic guidance and board advisory.

Areas of Focus

Emerging Technology Strategy

Helping organizations understand where technologies are headed and what it means for them. Domains include:

  • Artificial intelligence and machine learning

  • Brain-computer interfaces and neurotechnology

  • Frontier technologies (quantum, advanced computing, etc.)

  • Technology convergence and second-order effects

AI Governance & Standards

Preparing organizations for the regulatory landscape ahead. I chair an international working group creating standards for safe LLM deployment and advise organizations on:

  • AI governance frameworks

  • Regulatory preparedness

  • Responsible deployment strategies

  • Standards alignment

Techno-Geopolitics

Understanding how technology and geopolitics interact. Co-lead workshops with world-recognized geopolitical experts. Help leaders develop frameworks for strategic decision-making in an era of:

  • Great power competition

  • Technological decoupling

  • Emerging technology races

  • Global governance challenges

Strategic Foresight

Not prediction—preparation. I help organizations build the muscle to anticipate multiple futures and position accordingly. Methods include:

  • Scenario planning

  • Trend analysis and signal detection

  • Critical thinking frameworks (subject of my book)

  • Longitudinal strategic advisory

Human-Centered Technology

A through-line in all my work: technology should serve human flourishing. This lens informs everything from AI governance to neuroarchitecture to compassionate technology applications.

What Clients Say

Speaking & Moderation

Keynotes, fireside chats, and panel moderation at conferences and internal events. I bring a multidimensional perspective that connects technology to broader human and geopolitical themes.

Let's Explore Whether There's Alignment

Bespoke work requires the right fit. I'm selective about new engagements because the work only succeeds when there's genuine alignment between what I offer and what you need.

If you're facing questions like these, let's talk:

  • "Where is our industry going, and are we positioned for it?"

  • "How do we prepare for AI regulations that don't exist yet?"

  • "What do geopolitical shifts mean for our technology strategy?"

  • "How do we think about the future when it's so uncertain?"

  • "Who can help us ask better questions before it's too late?"

Seeing What Others Don't

  • "Everyone in our industry is looking at the same trends and coming to the same conclusions. How do we see what they're missing?"

  • "What's the question we're not asking that will determine our future?"

  • "Our competitors are all racing in the same direction. Where's the opportunity in going somewhere else?"

  • "How do we distinguish genuine signal from compelling noise?"

  • "What do our blind spots say about where we're vulnerable?"

Imagination & Possibility (I wrote a whole book on the competitive value of imagination!)

  • "We're so focused on quarterly results that we've lost the ability to imagine entirely different futures. How do we get that back?"

  • "What's the science fiction version of our industry that could become reality in 10 years?"

  • "If we could start from scratch today, knowing what we now know, what would we build differently?"

  • "What would an organization designed for long-term resilience look like, unconstrained by our current structure?"

  • "How do we create space for imagination when the urgent always crowds out the important?"

Competitive Positioning

  • "We're playing the game everyone else is playing. How do we change the game entirely?"

  • "Where are our competitors making assumptions that we could challenge?"

  • "What would it look like to compete on foresight rather than reaction speed?"

  • "Our current strategy assumes the future will look like the present. How do we position for futures that look nothing like today?"

  • "What's our moat in a world where technology is eroding everyone's moats?"

Strategic Differentiation

  • "Everyone in our space is making the same promises. How do we become the only one who can deliver something truly different?"

  • "What capabilities do we have that we're underutilizing because they don't fit the current narrative?"

  • "If we wanted to make ourselves strategically irreplaceable, what would we need to become?"

  • "Our competitors are optimizing for efficiency. Should we be optimizing for something else entirely?"

  • "How do we build a position that's not just defensible but inevitable?"

Technology & Human Distinctiveness

  • "As AI commoditizes more and more of what we do, what remains uniquely human about our offering?"

  • "How do we use technology not just to automate, but to amplify what makes us distinctive?"

  • "What would it look like to build a strategy around human flourishing rather than just efficiency and growth?"

  • "Our competitors are racing to replace humans with AI. What if we raced to make humans more valuable?"

  • "What's our humanity moat?"

Foresight as Competitive Advantage

  • *"Our planning horizon is 12-18 months. What happens if we extend it to 10 years?"*

  • "How do we build an organization that can adapt to futures we can't yet imagine?"

  • "What early signals are we dismissing that could rewrite our industry?"

  • "If we wanted to be the ones who disrupt ourselves before someone else does, where would we start?"

  • "How do we make strategic patience a competitive advantage in a world obsessed with speed?"

The Questions Behind the Questions

  • "What would our strategy look like if we stopped assuming the future will be stable?"

  • "How do we hold multiple, contradictory futures in mind while still making decisions today?"

  • "What's the relationship between our imagination and our execution—and how do we strengthen it?"

  • "Our organization is brilliant at solving problems. How do we get better at identifying which problems are worth solving?"

  • "What would it mean to think of strategy not as a plan but as a set of questions we keep asking?"
