Meaningful Human Connection

Inspired by the World Health Organization citing that have a global pandemic of loneliness and knowing that meaningful human connection is good for healthy aging, this series explores what this looks like from different perspectives. Not all of us connect the same way with others, but we all need to connect. This series offers many different perspectives on fulfilling meaningful connection.

Perimenopause Game Plan

With increased education, research and awareness on the impacts of the hormonal transition towards menopause, and how the hormone loss can adversely affect healthy aging, I thought it was important to have a 'Perimenopause Game Plan'. As I had developed one  of my own (the menstrual human performance micro journal is a big part of it) informed by the metrics that are critical to look out for I thought I'd ask others how they were going about it to get different perspectives so that we can gather inspiration and ideas and learn from others. And also strategic approaches to navigating the hormonal transition, shifting the narrative from silence to proactive executive management.

Genotypes & the Built Environment

I have been fascinated by the growing field of neuroarchitecture and interested in how there might be more than just the neuroscience findings of what pleasures our yes, but that our genes might also play a role in what makes us feel safe, excited and relaxed. What colors we are drawn towards and that all this interacts with our unique autonomic nervous system (such as ADRA2B and COMT). I am currently leveraging my genetic data and doing a literature review on the genetic variants that are relevant to our experience of physical world around us.
